Bullying Rally

A group of students and staff got together on Thursday October-21-2010 for a bullying rally. Many of us stood out in the union with our signs and posters speaking out on bullying. We marched from the forum, into the cafeteria, into the student union, and back into the forum, Chanting “ Bullying has got to go, hey hey, ho ho”. While some stared, others joined in.

Things got emotional when some students shared their stories. Words can leave scares, and scares can last a lifetime. Some people do not have the ability to stand up for themselves and block out others who are negative towards them. Let’s help one another instead of bringing each other down.

Countless amount of people committed suicide and lost their lives because they were being bullied or teased.

Bullying – An act of repeated aggressive behavior in order to intentionally hurt another person, physically or mentally. It is a certain way for a person to gain power over another person.

This can happen anywhere from school, home and/or work. Consists of three basic types of abuse, emotional, verbal, and physical
