Visual Display Class In Review

Standard

I was just recently informed that due to the combined efforts of the two teams of  GCC’s display students, Charles Men’s Shop won the annual Batavia Christmas window contest! The windows were intended to be judged as two separate entries, but the theme of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” was so cohesive, and they flowed together so fabulously, I can understand how the judges couldn’t help but view them as one grand unit. I’m so grateful that I got to partake in this exciting holiday event, due to the graciousness of the wonderful folks at Charles Men’s Shop, and Professor Donna Ehrhart.

While the thought of visual display work was fresh in my mind, I thought I would take a moment and do a quick recap of the displays created by students in the latter half of the course. So, please enjoy these dazzling displays, in no particular order:

These last few photos are of my absolute favorite display class assignment! We were instructed to create a table setting. I decided to go a little overboard, and use this as an opportunity to showcase my passion for tea parties, and all things Alice in Wonderland, with a Mad Tea Party theme! It was so much fun! I set up a functional tea table, and invited my family to an afternoon affair.
