Recently I reached out to several popular fashion/ life style bloggers in the Western New York area. I Thought it would be great to get their ideas on the essence of fashion, and the meaning it plays in their lives. Lindsay Robson of NickelCityPretty, Andrea Barberia of GlamourCocktail, and Ruya Kirac of SweetShortand Stylish, were kind enough to reflect on the question of what fashion is to them, and provide us with heartfelt responses:
“Fashion is the greatest form of personal expression. It’s a way to show who I am and tell my story without using words. Fashion is fun and exciting and gives me an outlet to take a chance and step out of my comfort zone.”
-Ruya Kirac

“I’ve always been captivated by fashion and what it has to offer ever since I was a little girl. Since starting my fashion blog, Glamourcocktail.com, its allowed me to fully emerge myself, take my love for fashion to the next level and show the world all about my style and travels. For me, fashion is being able to express who I am as a person, where I come from and how I want the world to perceive me without having to say anything at all. I love being able to read people’s style and outfits and already know a little bit about them before even meeting them. It’s about expression, imagination and having enough courage to wear something because it makes you feel good, and I think that’s really important. I think it’s amazing how an outfit can give you all the confidence in the world, and I think it’s at those moments when I fall in love with fashion all over again.”
-Andrea Barberia

“Fashion is art, emotions, and power all wrapped up into one. It’s a different language that involves breaking the rules and most importantly, being yourself.”
-Lindsay Robson
