To celebrate 50 years of GCC join us on Thursday, May 4th at 12:30p.m. on the East Lawn (by the playground) where we will form a human number ‘50’ and there will be video and photos taken on the ground & from the air from a drone! Not only do you get to be a part of GCC history, but you also get a free t-shirt that will be worn for the human ‘50’, just for participating and having a good time!
In 1963, the Batavia Jaycees established a committee that stressed the need for a community college in Genesee County. In November of 1965 the public voted yes by a margin of over 1400 to the proposition of establishing a community college. Thus, Genesee Community College, our home, was born! Since then, we have also established 6 campus centers throughout Genesee, Livingston, Wyoming, and Orleans County!
GCC now focuses on being student success focused, and celebrating student excellence often. Genesee Community College has been a home to students for 50 years, and will continue to do the same for the youth for years to come.
As my freshman year comes to a close I have to realize just how much GCC has to offer. I always thought college would be too hard, but with the help of advisors and the great professors and staff I have been able to prosper. I am so glad that I get to be a part of GCC’s history, and GCC will be apart of my future.
We hope to see you May 4th to celebrate our amazing school!
